BIG THINGS!

Finally ladies and gentlemen. We could have all of our dreams starting to materialize

The first book is in the hands of a publisher, we await some editing and then we publish. This will open the doors to our new venture of helping premature babies with the foundation.

I will be embarking on the new career of Speaking and motivating people. The gifts that Jonna has brought with her, I must share with the world.

Look here for more exciting information coming real soon.

Been too long...

I am going to organize and get all the new pictures up here. I am going to organize and change the look of this website before her 2nd birthday. I am going to organize and make sure you people see the progress our little girl makes everyday.

She really is something and I am being bad for not keeping this updated. Life sometimes gets in the way, but sometimes you have to just collect, organize and process. If you actually checked this and see this post, please remember things are on the way

Pictures Soon

We only have 3 more months of solitude for her. Then she goes out in the world!!! Finally a world that will open up for Mommy and Daddy. Everyone be patient, pictures will be up this week along with a new look on the website. That is the plan.

Everything is fine, she is standing some now, no walking. Crawls like a racecar. No words yet. She stacks and learns very well.

So very soon, pictures, website, book, everything.

Finally an update..!!!

Well, I am really slacking in these updates and on the book. I have to finish this book. It is very important to me and to her...but enough of this.

Jonna Lil is semi-standing on her own! She is very very very scared of falling. She has a very ornate fear of falling. Couple that with her terror from high-pitched noises and these are two things that cause issues.

We are about to start her RSV shots again next month so April 2006 for big time Wal-mart kind of public is still on track. We have taken her shopping and to several restaurants, but we always sit alone and make sure she touches nothing. She likes to go out. She is very well-behaved.

We can give her a toddler cookie or a cheese stick and she will eat the whole thing. Amazing...here was this 1 pounder that we had to force food and now we have a 16 pounder eating cheese. She loves those things. We are into 3 foods and she can handle anything that "mushes" after a while in the saliva.

Her only words right now are "Da-Da" FOR EVERYTHING!!! Yes, lint, the dog, food, Bottle, diaper, a bug everything "Da-Da". We are working on the B words, but she is very happy with Da-Da.

I will put some pictures up soon....have not taken much since Birthday, but I have to get those up here also.

I will do better and I will finish this book. Very crucial. Thank you for reading, and all the love. We are slowly getting there.

Happy Birthday...sort of..

I know, her birth, a year. Birthday Right.

Well, I remember it as RFTW Day. "Ripped From The Womb".

Mommy does not like that, but essentially, when you have to take your baby away so early or death will occur, you kind of force the "Birth"Day. BUT, it has been one year!!

So let's not quibble over semantics. She is here. She is good.

She is almost 15 pounds. The average baby is 20 pounds at year one. We were close. But remember, adjusted age is 9 months, so if we are 20 by October, we should be right on.

Book News - Still writing.

Teeth news - Two teeth on upper. Looks like the eye teeth or Canine, I know weird right, but it could be the ones next to the front, or the Incisors. Don't know, won't know until some more come in.

Height news - about 30 something inches tall.

Walking news - Nope.

Sitting up news - Yes. She can sit up on her own. We have foam padding all over the living room to protect that big ol head. Sometimes the weight is too much and boink.

It has been a year. Instead of redoing all 900 pictures, I just began a new site from Year Two on. It won't be as extensive as Year one, but it will be prettier and smarter. I will eventually redo Year One, but it will happen slowly. I want to try to get the book out by Christmas.

Anyway, thank you everyone for all you have done. We made it through the toughest year of our life ever. We have some more hurdles to cross, but we will.

“Come to the edge.”
“We can't. We're afraid.”
“Come to the edge.”
“We can't. We will fall!”
“Come to the edge.”
And they came.
And he pushed them.
And they flew.

Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle.
The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.

Sorry, sorry, sorry

So much has happened since we last spoke on 4/10.

The main thing..sitting up. She sits up now. Very good. She can't get into the sitting up position, but you can put her there and look out!!!She is there for good. So now we can play with toys that are a little bigger and cooler.

And you should see her jump. Everything to her is a jumper. You hold her and those legs start a kickin. ...

I am redoing her site for her "Ripped from the Womb" day, otherwise known as the birthday, so please tell all you friends to come back on her anniversary of 7/11 and check out all the new movies, new layout, new pictures and such. I do have some new pictures up here now...so check them out....and prepare.

Oh yeah, the book is coming out soon....it is slower than what I thought, but we are looking at a holiday out. Hopefully.

I realize I need to be on this thing more often and I will. I thank you all for all your curiosity, making sure we are ok and watching her growth.

We are 14 pounds 4 ounces now. Almost 30 inches long. And starting to graps concepts. Very nice.

Finally, what have we been up to!!!

Yes, I hear you. The complaints. The groans. The whatsits? I will TRY to get this updated every weekend. I am TRYING to finish the book! The demand is so very large and I will get it done.

We have been very, very busy with this little one.

Healthwise - still perfect. No sickness, infection, or weird discharge of any kind. When you keep the child quarantined, that is supposed to be the result.

Kidney - still got one!

Eyes - beautiful blue. She noticed a light on the wall from one of her toys in the daylight. Surprised me very much.

Growth chart - still not on it. I wrote that we were, but we are not. BUT...

Vitals - 12 pounds; 26.2 inches LONG (grown out of 3 month clothes only in length, could still wear newborn if you cut the feet out!)

Milestones - LOVES to now STAND. She is not very good at it, but loves it. Check out the new pictures of her tall, lanky self in her new jumparoo and DJ station!!

Family - We are all very much ok. I am trying to work very hard to keep up this current pace of formula. Sometimes she takes in as much as 6 ozs in a feeding, (remember when cc’s made us happy?)
Mom is making sure we are still on the every 3 hours feeding schedule. 8AM, 11, 2, 5, 8 PM then down for the night to wake up once for one more feeding about 2-3.

We actually took her out once to a suit store. Not many people, we kept her stroller closed, but she enjoyed it and she did very well.

We visited the NICU again and all her old nurses and doctors were so proud of her!! She giggled and cooed and acted so good with all of them. She really had a good time with them. They carried her all around the hospital and showed her off.

Then they said, “This is what makes our job worth it.” I can’t tell you how good that makes you feel, and I swear, whenever you see a nurse, you tell her Thank you for her work. These people go through the good times and the bad. Luckily, we are one of those brighter moments, and I promise that we will constantly shine a light on these people, without them. I would not be writing this thing at all, at least not in this tone.

As I am writing, she has just eaten and is in here crib, holding very well her spinball, stuffed rabbit, stuffed something else, watching her mobile, listening to music and constantly TALKING.

If you are not giving her attention, she is talking. Not crying, but just trying to let the world know, I have to catch up. I was not able to talk for so long and now I am going to do it!!!

She likes to watch TV, cartoons while sitting in her bouncy.

The ONLY negative is she fights sleep ALL DAY!!! She would rather take a 3-minute nap, and then fight the rest of them. She gets VERY cranky when she fights sleep. I tell her, look, this is one time in your life, that, when you are tired, you just go to sleep. You are not in charge, go ahead!!!
She does not listen. SO I will at least say something at regular intervals. Go check out all the pictures. It is the milestones that I will tell you about mostly, the regular stuff in the middle is pretty boring kid stuff.
